New Facility Opening In May 2022
The new ABA building at Oxford Recovery Center will have many individual rooms of varied sizes for learners, as well as a functioning village. They will be able to start out in a smaller, more structured environment where they feel safe and comfortable. As they progress in their treatment and begin to feel more at ease, they can transition into a medium sized environment where they may be able to hear outside noises and have more interaction with their peers. As they acquire more communication and socialization skills, they can become immersed in the village community where there are many opportunities for them to explore, play, and embrace their skill sets in a natural environment. The building will also include many other therapeutic opportunities, such as, water room, art room, music room, and full size fully enclosed playscape. Our classically trained chef will be able to create individualized lunches for each child in our new state-of-the art commercial kitchen.
Our fully functioning village at Oxford Recovery Center is an ideal setting for Natural Environment Teaching (NET). Learning will be a fun and exciting experience with access to a real coffee shop, smoothie shop, gift store and many more shops. Learning social and communication skills will happen organically without children even realizing they are being taught. An indoor park with curbs, roads, crosswalks, sidewalks, scooters, and bicycles will provide opportunities for learners to exercise and engage in Physical Therapy while learning to navigate the real world safely.
ARTS Program & Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy
Oxford Recovery Center takes a holistic approach to treating autism. We combine ABA with other therapies to help children with autism learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Your child can start in our program immediately!
At Oxford Recovery Center, our synergistic approach to autism is unlike any other ABA center. We provide center-based ABA services and other beneficial therapies like Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, art classes, music classes, and more.
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)
All of our behavior analysts are master level and board certified through the State of Michigan.
Real Time Parent Portal
Oxford Recovery Center’s ABA Parent Portal allows parents to see and measure all of the goals and progress of their child.
BCBA’s, on average, sit down with parents twice a month to review progress and goals as well as train parents how to utilize techniques at home.
ABA therapy increases positive behaviors to replace problem behaviors in children with autism. Children are taught the skills that will make them more successful in their home, school, and communities.
Speech therapists give techniques and strategies for children to communicate. Speech therapy is the communication building block for lifelong learning.
At ORC, our Occupational Therapy program provides techniques and strategies for children to acquire life skills. It focuses on sensory-motor, social, emotional and cognitive functions. Our therapy model customizes programs based on your level and situation. With our synergistic approach, we work closely with other team members to maximize outcomes.
Oxford Recovery Center is now offering a unique, insurance-covered approach to physical therapy for children and adults. These sessions focus on retraining the body and brain from a neurological standpoint compared to the traditional muscular approach.
Patients are trained to use muscles correctly, rather than compensating for muscle groups that are not functioning properly.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Oxford Recovery Center offers alternative treatments including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Recently, we conducted a research study for children with autism from 2-17 years of age to look at speech development between those who received HBOT and those who did not. At the end of this study, it was found that there was a 200% – 300% improvement in Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) scores of children treated with HBOT compared to a control group even in difficult to grasp areas such as spontaneous vocalization! It is suggested that this response is due to the anti-inflammatory effects of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

What Our Parents Say
There are no words to adequately express the enormous sense of gratitude we owe to the distinctively well-trained professionals at Oxford. Enthusiastically the Team endearingly dedicates their sensitive, caring capabilities to making our spirited child their top priority. We are exceptionally grateful for finding Oxford Recovery Center. It is so much more than a facility. It is a fantastic experience.
This place is the absolute best for autism. They have given my son a whole new trajectory in life. Truly remarkable. Their staff are experienced professionals who have lots of care and compassion for what families face. This was the 3rd autism program we tried after two failed miserably. This place is probably one of the best in the country.
