COVID-19

COVID Long Hauler & Post COVID

COVID-19 can cause long lasting symptoms for those who have recovered from the acute infection.  The population who experiences these symptoms are commonly referred to as COVID Long Haulers. Research suggests that capillary damage and inflammation may contribute to the post COVID symptoms due to the interference with blood and tissue oxygenation as well as brain function.  Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can help alleviate or relieve symptoms resulting from COVID-19.

Symptoms May Include:

  • Low blood oxygen levels without breathlessness
  • Unexpected onset of hypertension
  • Unexpected onset of diabetes
  • Delirium
  • Confusion
  • Memory problems
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Brain fog
  • Rashes
  • Loss of smell
  • Persisting chest pain
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Muscle weakness and pain
  • Joint pain
  • Headaches
  • Neuropathy
  • Fatigue
  • Malaise
  • Lethargy
  • GI discomfort
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight loss

Our Approach to COVID-19

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a clinical treatment where the patient breathes 100% oxygen while enclosed in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber at a pressure greater than one atmosphere.

At pressures greater than normal, the body can incorporate more oxygen into blood cells, blood plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, and other body fluids. The increased oxygen absorption experienced during HBOT boosts stem cell circulation 800% and enhances the body’s ability to heal itself. Known effects of HBOT include reduced inflammation, healing of infections and repair of damaged tissues. Raising oxygen levels in tissues where they have been lowered due to illness or injury encourages blood vessel growth, reduces swelling, and supports the immune system. These effects provide significant symptomatic relief and delayed or decreased progression of disease.
